What is the difference between CV (curriculum vitae) and Resume?

Whenever we are willing to write or prepare some of our very important documents, this is very important that we should do that in the most right ways as no doubt at all that this is one of those things that cannot be changed by the movement of the time, and from time to time. If one is willing to even change that then this is much better than he or she should. In order to be well professional this is very important that you should know the difference between the curriculum vitae and the resume.  As we all know that the Britain applies with the CV while the Americans apply with the resume. Why is it so like this? What is the difference between them? Here we will let you know about all that in the matter of few minutes so keep on reading.

The Curriculum Vitae:

Generally the work of the curriculum vitae, CV means as the course of the life in the Latin language. It can be a document that can have more than two pages telling about what you have focused in your previous life, what are your ambitions and what are the achievements that you have made all over also. The curriculum vitae also covers your education, and accomplishments such as the awards, and the certificates all along with your extra courses and honors too.
This document is very easy to read, and is made in the sense of small highlighting and points so that it is not only attractive but is also easy to get too. The curriculum vitae  is also a format that will not change the position of the headings in it, but will be commonly same.

The Resume:

This is another kind of the document that is not longer than the one page. It covers too many information in it, and is probably changing its position according to how many data you are actually willing to add into it. The main goal of the Resume is to make any person stand out from the crowd making it more prominent and having the factor that it is better as compared to all of the other choices. This is actually made and tailored according to the base of the person who will be going to hold, it can sound tricky but it covers all of the good points that are also ,mentioned in a well way.

The Main Difference between CV (curriculum vitae) and Resume:

The length is one of the main differences in the Resume, and in the curriculum vitae. As the pages differ in the numbers,  the Resume  is a document covering only the good points n order to make you stand, while the curriculum vitae  will be showing all of your past, all the good and the bad well mentioned in it also.

How it’s used around the world?

The curriculum vitae is not much proffered over the resume, and these two documents are commonly mistaken to be the same too. In many places of the world such as the UK reign the curriculum vitae  is not much used, while in the other areas the resume is not that much used.

How to write an attractive and persuasive cover letter?

How to write an attractive and persuasive cover letter?

Needless to mention that a cover letter builds the first impression and we admit “first impression is the last impression”

When you are applying for a job locally, internationally, in public or private sector, in limited or multinational companies, you are asked to provide you resume or CV along with a cover letter.
The main purpose of a cover letter is to provide a short but comprehensive description and summary of the documents you’ve attached alongwith it, the skills you have and the reason “why you are fit for the job in hand?” In other words it covers the documents, CV and Resume attached alongwith it and also puts you skills and accomplishments before the employer.
If your cover letter is persuasive and attractive enough to catch the attention of employer then you may claim to be succeeded in getting you goal. It is because if the employer is attracted by you cover letter he/she is compelled to read, view and review your attached documents in depth and carefully and his this attention directly results into calling you for an interview.
So, the question is that, how to write a persuasive and an attractive enough cover letter which can catch the attention of employer on one hand and make you able to stand different amongst the thousands of the applicants and candidates on the other hand? There are some does & don’ts and tips following which you can make the same and can find the answer to the question. The points and tips are as under;
1.       Keep in mind that a cover letter is an alternative to the job application letter
2.       Mention the name of post you’re applying for
3.       Give reference of the job advertisement with date and source
4.       Write to the point
5.       Introduce yourself in view of your experience and qualification (no autobiography)

How to persuade employer to read your whole Job Application?

How to write a catchy and standard job Application? A self-asked question; asked by many of my friends and job seekers on different forums…

jobs cover letter
Job Application

While writing a job application (even every type of application) we often use the words and phrases which we were used to write in the days of our primary school. Is this right to do so? We don’t focus the point of view and subject matter in our application and run the arrested words which leave a negative impact in the mind of reader.

Actually we don’t know the power of writing hence neglect the importance of application and suppose that it is just a formality to fulfill the requirement for applying a job. No, this point of view is absolutely wrong.
While during the scrutiny of job applications, the selection board or authority don’t have a big bag of time to read the whole contents of your application among a large number of applicant… So what should be done to compel the reader to read your whole job application? It is simple and easy to do so. You should catch the attention of the reader at his/her first eye on your application. For this you should apply the following parameters and steps to your applications;

1.     Application Format:

Formatting of your application should be attractive and professional. Formatting contains the page layout (paper and margins), font size and font styles.

2.     Subject:

The subject of your application should be concise, comprehensive and attractive. It should be bold, upper cased and underlined.

3.     Greeting:

Greeting is the backbone of an application and first thing which persuade employer to read it all. We often use “Sir” ”Dear Sir” ”Respected Sir”. I suggest that be creative and use new words like “Estimate Sir” Esteemed Sir” “August Sir”, but don’t rely only upon these phrases you may use new ideas giving more respect to the reader/employer while writing a job application.

4.     Purpose of application, source and reference:

Don’t use the arrested words here like others; try to be special among the thousands of applicants. Start from the phrase “with reference to your advertisement …” then write “I have the hounour to submit that …” and then carry out the rest of the paragraph.

5.     Describing yourself:

Be bold, be confidant, suppose yourself to be the top priority candidate for the current job. Express all about you, say some specialty you have, mention your contribution if any.

6.     Why I am hired?

Provide a strong statement claiming that you are the best suitable candidate for this job and you are hired because you have the following qualities which other candidates don’t have at all.

7.     Education and qualification:

Mention the short summary of your academic, professional qualification and relevant experience in a manner which may make you different from others. Don’t go in detail in this section if asked to provide a CV or Resume along with the job application.

8.     End and thanking the employer:

Everything has its end and without a good end the thing always fails. So as suggested that you should be creative and use special words in this paragraph which make your job application healthier.

9.     Your signature and date:

It is very important to mention date and place on the document. More make your signature design in a professional way; bold and under-bracket your name here in this section.
